It is important to evaluate whether a measured change in an asthma outcome is clinically meaningful as well as statistically significant. Thresholds for determining clinically significant improvement have been established for some measures of asthma control, asthma-related quality of life, pulmonary physiology, and healthcare utilization, and are presented in Table E-1.
