FAB M3. Progranulocytic leukemic cells usually have round nuclei with heavily granulated cytoplasm. Extracellular granules are often noted, and blasts with multiple Auer rods (not shown) are common. This leukemia has typical 15; 17 translocation and a characteristic clinical picture of disseminated intravascular coagulation.
