This figure displays a forest plot of six studies that looked at all-cause mortality in patients undergoing surgical Maze versus standard of care or rhythm control using antiarrhythmic drugs. The summary odds ratio was 1.965 (95% CI, 0.805 to 4.796), demonstrating a potential increase in mortality associated with the Maze procedure compared with other strategies, although this finding did not reach statistical significance.
