T1-weighted (A) and T2-weighted (B) (without fat-suppression) axial MR images through the distal thigh reveal a high T1, high T2 signal mass anterior to the distal femur consistent with a benign lipoma. Note how the signal characteristics match those of subcutaneous fat on both sequences.
