The level of participation achieved in a behavioural regimen once the individual has agreed to undertake it.
- Aerobic exercise
Rhythmic, repeated and continuous movements of the same large muscle groups for at least 10 minutes at a time, for example walking, cycling, jogging, swimming.

The decline in numbers due to dropouts and other losses to follow-up as trials go on.
- Intermediate hyperglycaemia
A condition in which the level of blood glucose is above normal but below the levels at which diabetes is diagnosed.
