Description

Between January 2008 and August 2008 three different devolpmental stages (L5 larvae, pupae and adults) of the winter population (WP) of Thaumetopoea pityocampa were sampled in the national parc Mata Nacional de Leiria (Portugal). Subsequently, RNA was extracted and then pooled and sequenced by 454 and Sanger technology. The read data were cleaned by an inhouse cleaning procedure and assembled by Newbler (v. 2.5.3) in order to establish a population-specific transcriptome for the WP.
