type-materialtype strain of Pyramidobacter piscolens
Description

Pyramidobacter piscolens is a member of the poorly characterized phylum Synergistes. It is a gram-negative, obligate anaerobe bacillus that has recently been reported in endodontic infections, and therefore may be part of the etiology of periradicular diseases. It is found in the human oral and vaginal cavities. This strain was isolated from the human oral cavity.
