Burkholderia CGD2M is a spontaneous mutant of CGD2 that lacks the mucoid appearance of its parent strain, CGD2. Interestingly, CGD2M induces a higher proinflammatory response and a higher entrance into cells in vitro than its parent strain, CGD2.
