Description

Yersiniosis is an important zoonotic disease that can be transmitted from food animal reservoirs to humans through meat products contaminated with Yersinia enterocolitica. YE7 is a Yersinia enterocolitica strain isolated from a Finnish sheep sampled at the slaughterhouse. The genome sequence of this strain will be determined and used for comparative analysis with genomes of other sequenced Yersinia enterocolitica strains.
