Description

The Swainson's thrush (Catharus ustulatus) is medium size songbird, known for its long migrations in the Americas, from as far north in Canada to as far south as Argentina. The species is thought to be the most ancient of its genus in North America. This sample was collected by Kira Delmore from a female caught in Kamloops, Canada and used to generate a chromosome level reference assembly as part of the G10K-VGP Project.
