Description

The female Coluber constrictor host (snout-vent length = 102 cm) was killed by a hawk in a residential neighborhood. The female was health and in the process of follicle development. Six Raillietiellids were found in the buccal cavity at time of collection and more were emerging from the glottis. The pentastomes were alive at the time of collection and put in the freezer. At the time of dissection we counted 33 females with an average length of 54.7 mm and 28 males with an average length of 12 mm (total pentastome count = 61 pentastomes)
