The Drosophila yakuba genome was sequenced to 9-fold coverage by the Genome Sequencing Center at the Washington University School of Medicine. The whole genome shotgun (WGS) project has the project accession AAEU00000000. This version of the project (02) has the accession number AAEU02000000, and consists of sequences AAEU02000001-AAEU02013424. The chromosomes are represented by accessions CM000157-CM000162, while the linked, unplaced scaffolds and unlinked scaffolds are represented by accessions CH891577-CH892666 and CH892667-CH899677, respectively.
The D. yakuba genome sequence was assembled using the PCAP6 assembler to make the droYak2 assembly. The assembly was annotated using several automated gene prediction programs, and the results were combined into a consensus GLEAN set (Drosophila 12 Genomes Consortium 2007). The assembly and annotation can be viewed in the FlyBase Genome Browser. Less...
