Freshwater bacterioplankton has been observed the worldwide distribution. The strains KF022, KF023, and KF032 were isolated from surface lake water in Japan using the size exclusion assay method (SEAM). These strains were closed to the Polynucleobacter sp. subcluster PnecC (PnecC tribe) which has been reported by Newton et al. (Microbiol Mol Biol Rev., 75(1), 2011, 14-49.) as the environmental clone of 47 lakes.
