Streptomyces hawaiiensis is a soil isolate that produces acyldepsipeptides (ADEPs), a special class of antibiotics that stimulate the ClpP, causing uncontrolled proteolysis that inhibits of bacterial cell division and eventually leading to bacterial cell death.
