The Broad Institute sequenced the Phaeosphaeria nodorum strain SN15 genome at greater than 10X coverage using whole genome shotgun (WGS) sequencing. Version 1 of the genome assembly consists of 493 nuclear genome contigs in 107 scaffolds, and a complete mitochondrial genome. The Broad Institute initially annotated the genome assembly using automated methods. In November 2007, the Australian Centre for Necrotrophic Fungal Pathogens (ACNFP), Murdoch University, Australia updated the annotation using additional EST evidence and retrained gene predictions.
