This study aims at gaining insight into long-term dormancy, by investigating the molecular events during the trajectory of entering dormancy in resting eggs (RE) of an aquatic invertebrate, the rotifer Brachionus plicatilis, and comparing it with the development of non-dormant embryos (amictic eggs; AM). A transcriptomic time-course of both developmental processes is provided.
