To investigate the molecular basis underlying the innate responses in macrophages against Neospora caninum and the mechanisms of parasite manipulation of its host cell environment, the transcriptional profile of bovine monocyte-derived macrophages infected with high (Nc-Spain7) and low (Nc-Spain1H) virulent N. caninum isolates was studied by RNA-seq, revealing the main processes involved in MØ activation.
