In this study, we aimed (1) to identify the most important environmental variables shaping the Amazonian bacterioplankton community structural, transcriptional, and functional profiles; and (2) to better understand the interaction between humic DOC and microbial consortia, by highlighting the taxa likely involved in the lignin degradation process and the potential pathways of degradation they possess.
