Combining multiple plant disease resistance genes is believed to enhance their durability, however, this is difficult to do by conventional breeding. We have introduction of a single T-DNA encoding 5 different wheat stem rust resistance genes (Sr22, Sr35, Sr45, Sr50, and Sr55) into bread wheat as a single locus.
