Prunus avium (sweet cherry)

Prunus avium genome assembly and genome-wide analysis of domestication

See Genome Information for Prunus avium
With the aim to study the effects of the domestication at a genome-wide scale in cherry, we set out to reconstruct the genome sequence of a modern cherry variety ( BigStar*) and to analyze the genetic variation in samples exposed to different rates of selective pressure, such as wild cherry trees, landraces and the more recent modern varieties.
