Due to a large number of positive characteristics, composts are widely used in agriculture in the trends of sustainable development and resource-saving technologies. Management of such crucial parameters as the phytopathogen-suppressive potential and fertilizing capacity of composts is of great interest. This study aimed to examine the impact of introduction of autochthonous compost species Bacillus subtilis, B. amyloliquefaciens, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aspergillus corrugatus both individually and in combinations on phytopathogens-suppressive and phytostimulating activity of composts, containing different amounts of dry matter - 36% (solid compost) and 7% (compost suspension). The test phytopathogens were Clonostachys rosea, Penicillium solitum and Alternaria alternata. This is the first report about potential of composts for biological control of C. rosea and P. solitum. Classical microbiological methods based on cultivation were used to evaluate the survival rate of microorganisms in compost and molecular biological methods based on qPCR were used to validate these results on the example of B. amyloliquefaciens. Germination indexes of test plant (Raphanus sativus) were determined to evaluate the phytotoxic/phytostimulating effect of the substrates. To assess the effectiveness of biocontrol, mycelial growth inhibition counted using in vitro tests. Introduction of autochthonous bacterial-fungal composition increased the fertilizing properties of compost up to 35% and improved the antagonistic activity of substrates up to 91.7%. It was concluded that the use of compost-native microbial antagonists composition can promote resistance to three tested fungal root and foliar phytopathogens, as well as raise the fertilizing quality of obtained compost.
