Carrot is a biennial herb in the Apiaceae that originated in Afghanistan, and is considered an outstanding source of vitamin A due to its high content of carotenoids. Carotenoids in carrot can provide substrate for vitamins and contribute to preventing cancers, regulating blood sugar levels, fighting oxidation and slowing aging. Telomer-to-telomere genome refers to the high-quality gapless genome obtained by high depth sequencing and assembly of multiple sequencing platforms. The assembly of the T2T genome enables the acquisition of the complete genome of species, which is conducive to the in-depth study of molecular mechanism of character variation.
