This pathogen can cause significant yield losses and quality degradation in hop production worldwide, leading to economic losses for farmers and brewers. Despite its economic importance, there is still limited knowledge about the genetic basis of hop powdery mildew pathogenesis and adaptation, making it difficult to develop effective control strategies against this disease.
