The Macleaya cordata extract (MCE, containing 40% sanguinarine (SA), 20% chelerythrine (CHE), and 40% sulfate) have been widely used in veterinary clinics and even as promoters of animal growth. However, a lack of available genomic information has become a limitation for research on this species.
