They are popular aquarium fish.This sample was collected by Byrappa Venkatesh, sequenced by Gene Myers group, in collaboration with Richard Durbin and Erich Jarvis, and used to generate a high-quality reference genome as part of the G10K-VGP and Fish VGP projects.
