The genome sequencing of the Limosilactobacillus fermentum ATCC 23271 strain was performed using the Illumina HiSeq4000 method. The genomic DNA was extracted using the PureLink Genomic DNA Mini Kit (Invitrogen, USA), according to the manufacturer's instructions. The partial genome was sequenced using the Illumina MiSeq paired library approach and prepared using the Nextera XT DNA Library Preparation Kit (Illumina, San Diego, CA, USA). The sequence readings were assembled with the A5 software, processed for adapter cutting, quality filtering and error correction to generate the contigs and scaffolds. In addition, the CAP3 software was used to improve the scaffolding assembly, to cut low-quality regions and to correct erroneous links between contigs.
