Here, we report an analysis of 15 S. Derby isolates taken from pigs and cattle in slaughterhouses across Germany (2000-2015) and publicly-available German S. Derby sequence data, comprising a total of 65 isolates which were collected between 2004 and 2018 from different sources (i.e., pigs, humans, cattle, wild boar and poultry). We analyzed genetic diversity, antimicrobial resistance genes, virulence-associated genes, and performed plasmid characterization on isolates from both sources.
