More...The aim of this study was to identification of fungi species in fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) and melissa (Melissa officinalis) seeds from plants growing area, and their pathogenicities in Tekirdag province, Turkey. Surface disenfected melissa and fennel seeds were cultured on Potato Dextrose Agar Medium. After the incubation period Alternaria sp., and Arthrinium sp., and Epicocum sp. were grown from the melissa seeds. Cladosporium sp. was isolated from fennel seeds. Molecular analyzes of four fungus isolates were performed DNA sequences. According to the these results Alternaria alternata (isolateTR-MeAa 3), and Arthrinium arundinis (isolate TR-MeArtA5), and Epicocum nigrum (isolate TR-MeEn16) were identified from melissa seeds. Cladosporium sp. was identified as species Cladosporium sphaerospermum (isolateTR-ReCs13). The melissa seeds rate contaminated with fungi was recorded on TR-MeAa3 (%19), and TR-MeArtA5 (%2,25), and TR-MeEn16 (%0.75), respectively. The fennel seeds rate contaminated with isolate TR-ReCs13 was recorded as %2.25. In pathogenicity tests by inoculation with melissa seeds, A. alternata isolate TR-MeAa3 caused disease severity 70%, and Arthrinium arundinis isolate TR-MeArtA5 67.
