We assessed the independent effect of delivery mode on infant gut microbiota, by postponing routine antibiotic administration to mothers until after cord clamping, in 74 vaginally delivered and 46 cesarean section born infants. Microbiota were characterized by 16S-rRNA-based sequencing.
