Fusarium graminearum (Fg) is a cosmopolitan fungal pathogen that causes significant losses in cereal production worldwide, both through yield reduction and grain contamination with mycotoxins. Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) is one of the most important crop plants globally. In barley, Fg causes a disease known as Fusarium head blight (FHB). Chitosan, a natural biopolymer abundant in the environment, has proven antifungal properties and acts as a plant immunity elicitor. In our project, we sequenced the Hordeum vulgare L. (Golden Promise) and Fusarium graminearum pathosystem following chitosan treatment.
