Genome Information for Gallus gallus
The aims of the project were to detect important genomic regions and candidate genes affecting economic traits of interest (body weight, egg production, meat quality, survivability and stress tolerance ability), as well as evaluate genetic diversity and investigate the feasibility of genomic selection as a potential selection strategy in native Bangladeshi chicken breeding programs.

Here we report all genetic variants (SNPs) detected from whole genome sequencing of 96 Bangladeshi chickens – 48 local village chickens (unimproved) and 48 improved chickens (improved by Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute, BLRI) belonging to the same indigenous breeds-Common Deshi, Hilly and Naked Neck.
