Nannochloris sp, a genus of green algae (Chlorophyta), is cultured in large outdoor raceways harboring diverse microbial communities. Microbacterium chocolatum GAI20246-6 was isolated from these ponds and demonstrated algicidal properties against Nannochloris sp. in laboratory conditions. This strain was characterized and its genome sequenced in order to understand better the inhibitory dynamic. We assembled a draft genome (5 contigs) for M. chocolatum GAI20246-6 with a total length of 3,375,961bp and a GC content of 70.28%.
