We studied the evolution of gene expression in Tribolium castaneum after beetles’ exposure to a new environment that differed from ancestral control conditions in temperature and humidity. We used the Tribolium castaneum Cro1 strain collected from a wild population in 2010 and adapted to lab standard conditions (33°C, 70% relative humidity) for more than 20 generations. The samples originate from a paternal half-sib cross with a split brood design whereby full-sib families were split between two conditions, the control (CT: 33°C, 70% r.H.) and the Hot-Dry (HD: 37°C, 30% r.H.) conditions. Sampled individuals were reproducing females at the age of eight weeks after. Individuals were the F1 brood produced by the paternal half-sib cross. This sample consist of 8 females from 48 full-sib families with 4 females raised in CT and 4 females raised in HD conditions per full-sib family.
