More...In this study, we aimed to elucidate the bacterial endophyte communities of sake rice cultivars and draw a distinction in endophyte community formation from those of table rice cultivars. To characterize the endophytic bacterial community compositions, four Japanese sake rice and two table rice cultivars were used. Rice roots were collected 0, 3, and 6 weeks after transplanting and the endophytic bacterial communities in rice roots were analyzed using the Illumina Miseq-based 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing.
