More...African rice (Oryza glaberrima Steud.) is one of the two cultivated rice species, which was independently domesticated in West Africa, belonging to the Poaceae family. In this study, complete chloroplast genome sequence of O. glaberrima variety RAM3 was characterized through de novo assembly. The genome is a circular DNA molecule of 134,602 bp and has typical quadripartite structures with a large single copy region (80,609 bp), a small single copy region (12,385 bp), and a pair of inverted repeats (20,804 bp). A total of 114 genes were predicted in the genome, including 79 protein-coding genes, 31 tRNA genes, and 4 rRNA genes.
