Equine intestinal mucosal kill zone. Characterization of the mucosal barrier of the small and large intestines and its reflection in faeces.

In this study, we analyzed both the microbiome composition and the levels of secretory Immunoglobulin A (IgA) in luminal content samples, alongside the microbiome composition and the number of IgA-producing cells within tissue samples from the digestive tract of nine healthy horses (small intestine, cecum, colon).
