Genome Information for Sulfurospirillum
Campylobacteria (previously known as Epsilonproteobacteria), was one of the frequently detected chemoautotrophic taxa in vent system. With its dominance in vent system was highlighted by molecular studies, the short of pure cultures is imminent. Few mesophilic and moderately thermophilic Campylobacteria was cultured form deep-sea hydrothermal vent, but none was represented in shallower vent system (<200 m). In this study, some novel hydrogen-oxidizing Campylobacteria assigned to genus Sulfurospirillum was enriched from shallow-water hydrothermal vent of Kueishan Island.
