Most species of the genus Coprinus sensu lato have recently been transferred to three other genera, Coprinopsis, Coprinellus, and Parasola. See Redhead, S.A. et al., 2001, Coprinus Pers. and the disposition of Coprinus species sensu lato. Taxon 50: 203-241.
