"One of two strains of Pseudo-nitzschia australis (marine pennate diatom),
from Monterey Bay, CA, that produce the neurotoxin domoic acid. Domoic
acid is responsible for amnesic shellfish poisoning.
P. australis CV17 and CV18 differ at a single site in their LSU rDNA
