Picochlorum
'Picochlorum oklahomensis' is here treated as an orthographic error under Article 60.1 and 62.1 of the ICBN (St. Louis) and corrected to Picochlorum oklahomense. Nouns ending in -um are second declension and are neuter in gender (Stearns 'Botanical Latin', 4th edition, p. 70). Henley et al. 2004 (q.v.) made no attempt to ensure gender agreement when they transferred existing species of Nannochloris to Picochlorum (Picochlorum 'maculatus', Picochlorum' oculata', Picochlorum 'eukaryotum'), so it is here assumed that gender was not considered when erecting the new genus. Note also that Algaebase changed the endings of the above noted species to Picochlorum eukaryotum, P. maculatum, and P. oculatum.
