Eretmobrycon
According to Roman-Valencia (2000), Ertemobrycon is a synonym of Bryconamericus. Molecular studies of Reeves and Bermingham (in press) support this synonymy. In this Taxonomy database, Eretmobrycon is still recognized as valid, at least for the time being (as of 3/26/02). Eretmobrycon is placed in the subfamily Tetragonopterinae based on the similarity of this genus to Bryconamericus. Roman-Valencia (2000). Tres neuvas especias de Bryconamericus (Ostariophysi: Characidae) de Colombia ydiagnostico del genero. Rev. Biol. Trop. 48 (2/3): 449-464.
