This HMM identified ArsS itself but also a broader collection of apparent orthologs from closely related non-gastric colonizers such as Helicobacter hepaticus, Campylobacter jejuni and Wolinella succinogenes. Proteins having this HATPase domain also contain a histidine kinase dimerization and phosphoacceptor domain (HisKA); some contain a HAMP sensory domain, while some an N-terminal two-component sensor kinase domain.
