Transmembrane 219 This protein belongs to a family found in eukaryotes. Proteins in this family are typically between 240 and 315 amino acids in length. The domains in this family vary in length from 202 to 249 amino acids. Its exact function remains unknown, however, it is thought to have a role as a transmembrane protein. More specifically, it is possible that this transmembrane protein may have a role as an insulin-like growth factor binding protein 3-receptor (IGFBP-3R). This receptor binds to the ligand, insulin growth factor 3, which is a p53-induced, apoptosis factor important for cancer prevention.
