Public Note for CCDS 4122.1
The coding region has been updated to shorten the N-terminus to one that is more supported by available conservation data. The previously represented start codon has a very weak Kozak signal and the N-terminal extension is poorly conserved, even among other higher primate species. It is likely that the ribosome will bypass the upstream start codon due to leaky scanning, and thus, the downstream start codon, which has a strong Kozak signal and is very well-conserved, will be used.

Public since: CCDS release 1, NCBI annotation release 35.1, Ensembl annotation release 23

Review status: Reviewed (by RefSeq, Havana and CCDS collaboration)
