SRX039675: Identification of lignin genes and regulatory sequences involved in secondary cell wall formation in Acacia auriculiformis and Acacia mangium via de novo transcriptome sequencing
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina Genome Analyzer II) run: 13.6M spots, 1.4G bases, 895.1Mb downloads

Design: Ribosomal RNA was depleted from total RNA before cDNA synthesis using Invitrogen Ribominus Kit. The sequencing library was constructed following Illumina RNA-Seq protocols.

Study: Transcriptome Sequencing of Acacia auriculiformis and Acacia mangium
show Abstracthide Abstract
Acacia auriculiformis x Acacia mangium hybrids are commercially important trees for the timber and pulp industry in Southeast Asia. Increasing pulp yield while reducing pulping costs are major objectives of tree breeding programs. The general monolignol biosynthesis and wood-related pathways are well-characterized but genes in these pathways are poorly characterized in Acacia hybrids. RNA-seq on short-read platforms for A. auriculiformis and A. mangium is a rapid approach for obtaining comprehensive transcriptomic data and to discover informative sequence variants.
