SRX000428: 454 sequencing of marine metagenome genomic fragment library
1 LS454 (454 GS FLX) run: 369,811 spots, 40.6M bases, 96.7Mb downloads

Design: From a sample of coastal California seawater, the marine cyanobacteria of the genus Synechococcus were enriched by flow cytometry-based sorting and the population metagenome was analyzed with 454 sequencing technology.

Study: Marine Synechococcus metagenome isolated from coastal surface water
show Abstracthide Abstract
Coastal surface water was collected from the end of the pier located at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, La Jolla, CA on October 10, 2006. A concentrated marine picoplankton sample was by filtration between a size range of 0.45-2.0 .M, and Synechococcus cells were concentrated by flow cytometry. Whole genomic DNA was prepared from the Synechococcus-enriched metagenomic sample, amplified by Genomphi and sequenced by 454 sequencing. 454 sequence data is available from the Short Read Archive (SRA): SRA001124. The WGS project can be found using the Project data link.
