Successful aging in a wellness group for older women

Health Care Women Int. 2000 Jun;21(4):267-75. doi: 10.1080/073993300245131.

Abstract

This paper describes a community-based group health promotion intervention for urban-dwelling, culturally diverse older women who meet the criteria of vulnerability in addition to having marked personal indicators of successful aging. The seven-year evolution of the group will be described, highlighting salient themes from evaluative data and projecting future directions. Specific recommendations for initiating small group health promotion programming are incorporated.
