Summary
Encodes a protein with C22-sterol desaturase activity. The enzyme was shown to catalyze in the presence of NADPH the conversion of &beta;-sitosterol to stigmasterol, but not that of 24-<i>epi</i>-campesterol to brassicasterol (unlike CYP710A2).
