genome-wide gene expression profiling of rice pollen in defferent developmetn stages

(Submitter supplied) Pollen development from the microspore involves a series of coordinated cellular events, and the resultant mature pollen is specialized in function that it can quickly germinate and produces a polar-growth pollen tube derived from the vegetative cell to deliver two sperms for fertilization. Understanding the molecular program underlying pollen development and germination still remains a major challenge for plant biology. more...

Autophagy mutants show delayed chloroplast development during de-etiolation in carbon limiting conditions

(Submitter supplied) Autophagy is a conserved catabolic process that plays an essential role under nutrient starvation condition and influences different developmental processes. We observed that seedlings of autophagy mutants (atg2, atg5, atg7, and atg9) germinated in the dark showed delayed chloroplast development following illumination. The delayed chloroplast development was characterized by a decrease in photosynthetic and chlorophyll biosynthetic proteins, lower chlorophyll content, reduced chloroplast size, and increased levels of proteins involved in lipid biosynthesis. more...

Expression in IFN-gamma treated control and Atg5-/- macrophages

(Submitter supplied) Type-I (α/β) and -II (γ) interferons (IFN), through an incompletely understood combination of redundant and unique mechanisms, are essential for host resistance to viral infection. We report a requirement for the Atg5-Atg12/Atg16L1 autophagosome elongation complex in IFNγ-mediated control of murine norovirus in macrophages. We use microarrays to compare transcriptional changes induced in control and Atg5 deficient macrophages by IFNγ treatment.

Functional Characterisation of the Core Autophagy Protein ATG5 in Dictyostelium discoideum

(Submitter supplied) Purpose: Global survey of the transcriptome in autophagy-deficient strains of D. discoideum Results: Our RNAseq analysis of ATG5‾, ATG5‾/12‾ and ATG5‾/12‾/16‾ cells revealed major transcriptional changes in a large number of genes in comparison to AX2 Conclusions: Our study presents a first detailed analysis of the transcriptome in autophagy-deficient strains of D. discoideum. The data were generated by RNA-seq technology. more...

Intergrative analysis of proteome and transcriptome dynamics during Bacillus subtilis spore revival

(Submitter supplied) To gain insight into spore germination and outgrowth, the transcriptome changes during Bacillus subtilis spore conversion to vegetative cells were analyzed. The transcriptome analysis also allowed us to trace the different functional groups of genes expressed during this conversion. . Our analysis identified 34 abundant mRNA transcripts in the dormant spores, at least 31 of which were rapidly degraded after the phase transition and observed 3152 differentially expressed genes during spore germination and outgrowth.
