UFO1 was isolated from pristine sediments collected from the background area of the Field Research Center (also known as the Oak Ridge Integrated Field-Research Challenge site) established at the Y-12 Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Tennessee, USA. A genome sequence was generated for UFO1 using PacBio sequencing reads.
